WMD's, Who's Next?

The Iranian "situation" is growing increasingly complicated each day, I don't know how many more news bulletins I can stand to read. This newest tid bit caught my eye and probably wouldn't have if not for the Iraq "weapons of mass destruction" debacle. The IAEA, which monitors international nuclear activity, is accusing U.S. officials of exaggerating and being 'dishonest' about Iran's nuclear weapons capability. According to the IAEA Iran's uranium enrichment is far too low for weapons use.

Let me be clear, I don't doubt Iran's capability for nuttiness, however whets the rush, if they are a definite threat we don't need to push the nuclear issue. It's not necessary to plant a gun on Al Capone, you know what I'm saying?

I don't know how they can say they are not ready to enrich uranium. In the late 80's I dated an Iranian Nuclear engineering student. He was a student at UC Berkeley and half his class was Iranian. His brother was a highly respected nuclear engineer, whose girlfriend was the Indonesian ambassador to the US's daughter. If the Iranians don't have the wherewithal and talent to go nuclear, nobody does!

Carnivorous you dimwit! If he was Iranian in the late 80s and studying at Berkeley, he would havse been a dissident living in the US! I think I am going to be a vegetarian from now on, if that's the company I keep as a Carn! And what does the fact that his brother dated the daughter of the Indonesian ambassador have anything to do with that? Are you trying to imply that you were in good company? Trailer Trash!

White trash is an American ethnic slur with a social class component. It is comparable to "honky" in that it is targeted toward white people, but also carries an allegation of low social status and poor prospects (downward mobility). To call someone "white trash" is to accuse that person of being bankrupt of cultural endowment. "White trash" is not a demographic group recognized by sociology."

There goes anon stereotyping again. Anon, I'm just saying that Indonesia could go nuclear too. As for being a dissident, plenty of dissident Chinses went back to work on China's programs. Plenty of them sent secrets to China while working at US nuclear labs. Do you think Iranians are exempt from being money hungry?

Besides, it's the President of Iran claiming to be ready to go nuclear. Of course Muslim guys brag and boast a lot. It's cultural.

Just a slight detail correction. Iran has never claimed they want nuclear weapons that is something that has seemed to be lost in translation. What they have officially said is that they have an estimated oil reserve of 125 years. After that oil runs out they will have no economy whatsoever so their desire is to turn towards nuclear energy in order to turn that oil reserves life into 250-300 years at least.

In order to be fair and balanced however I will tell you that I know an Iranian engineer who is now an american citizen. He claims that not only does Iran have Nuclear weapons capability but that they have a bomb and he helped develop it before he fled Iran.

Do you think Iran will really be targeted? I think america may have its hands full with two already failed wars (Afganistan & Iraq) to be stupid enough to enter a third.
Mind you G.Bush never ceases to amaze- if there is, do you think Syria will be dragged in too?

It's funny that you think Bush is stupid for going to war in other countries. I thought he was a brilliant evil mastermind trying to destablize the middle east and steal all the oil and give all of palestine and lebanon to the jews, which is it? As for stupidity, it was major stupity fro the terrorists to attack the US, look what's happened since.
